Module 2: What Is Academic Bullying?

In this module, we share the basics of academic bullying: what it is, the five basic categories of bullying behavior, and how it affects targets of bullying. We also differentiate bullying from behaviors that, though they may be unpleasant, do not constitute bullying.

Module 3: Why Does Academic Bullying Occur?

Why is bullying such a pervasive problem in academia? In this module, several scholars share their thoughts on how universities create or allow the conditions in which bullying can occur.

Module 4: What To Do If You Are A Target Of Academic Bullying

In this module, experts and targets of bullying share advice on what to do (and not do) if you are a target of academic bullying.

Module 5: The Role Of Bystanders

Bystanders can be enormously helpful to targets of bullying - if they choose to act. Here, several academics share their advice for bystanders. We also share advice on what to do (and not do) if you are a witness of academic bullying and harassment.

Module 6: What Academic Institutions Should Do

There's no question that universities and other institutions have grown in their awareness of bullying. And yet it persists. In this module, several experts will talk about what academic institutions should be doing to stop bullying and harassment on campus.

Module 7 - Test Your Knowledge and Receive Your Certificate

In this module, we present several scenarios and ask you to determine whether or not each case is an example of academic bullying. After successful evaluations, users will get a certificate showing their ability:

• To identify academic bullying and harassment; and
• To protect themselves using the available resources.
